About TnLI's Slowcial Media

It's all in the name.

Separate from the lightening-speed chaos of 21st century life, I created this website as a space for myself to post longer-form pieces of reflective, musing writing. Having grown increasingly dissatisfied with the offerings of global social media platforms, I realised that all I wanted for my online presence was a space that I could archive my life and thoughts to look back on later. I don't care as much for followers, following, trends, virility, "content", disappearing posts, permanent neurological changes, or ads.
Once I recognised that, while I had given social media 15 years of my life, it did not mean I was obligation bound to give them any more, I created this blog.

While it may not be for the masses, if you manage to find it, you are welcome here. I hope it encourages self-reflection and critical thinking in others, as well as myself.

I humbly acknowledge the owners of the land on which I live and write, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. Always Was, Always Will Be.

“Ten times a day something happens to me like this - some strengthening throb of amazement - some good sweet empathic ping and swell. This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know: that the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness.”― Mary Oliver
